Ending a journey.

No matter how hard I think, wonder and work things out, I will never know why a jounrey like this didn't go the way I imagined. I haven't blogged in a while, slack of me, but I have been busy, lonely and confused. Don't get me wrong at the same time, I've been finding out things about myself and my personality that I never knew existed and I wouldn't trade this experience for a life time. Things just have not worked out and unfortunatly it's time to move on. You think you know someone but you don't really, you think you know what you want but you really dont. Ever felt this way? It's the way Ive been feeling for the last 3 weeks. I won't lie, things have been tough and making the desicion of coming home is hard but Im not going to live any longer in a place where Im not happy. My last day of working here is today (Friday 30th) it's going to be a sad goodbye to both Hannah and Lilah. Im heading to Niagara falls on Sunday which i'm thrilled about, going with some ladies I met that have really helped me out the last few weeks. I will not be coming back to this family after I go to Niagara falls, I will be staying for three weeks at a friends house and just travelling around. I will be home in three and a half weeks. It's been a great experience, it's been hard and challenging and it's been cut short, but so what? Im happy with how far as a person I have become and all I really want is to be proud of what Ive achieved and I am.
I dont know what's next in life. It's scary.

USA BABY!

So Sunday EARLY morning I arrived home from a trip to the US. Had such a wonderful time and did alot of first timers. We stayed in Myrtle Beach which is in South Carolina. So got to travel through New York, West Virginia, pennsylvania and other well known states.

Not the most flattering picture of myself but I like the fact that I was in Pennsylvania.

I really was suprised when I came to Canada on how different it was to Australia, but the US is very different to back home. Even when you drive along the roads (Ignoring the fact of the different sides you drive on) it's so much different.
We went to a zoo and I held a snake, well two of them, this is a very big deal for me as since I was young enough to remember snakes have been a very big fear for me. A couple of years ago I use to go for walks to the top of our farm and had a snake crawl up my leg and since then haven't even been able to think about them. These were friendly snakes though!

So, we went to this restaurant called The Dicks. It's a place where they are very rude and just don't care. Below is a picture of myself and the waiter. He got very excited when he knew that I was Australian. You walk into the place and they yell at you from the other side of the room and tell you to sit down and then they throw everything at you and be rude. It's such a great place. Towards the end of your meal the waiter makes you a hat (as above) saying something usually that he learnt about your personailty (these are usually sarcastic comments) The waiter wrote on mine:
I see tables and Poles in my future.
Im glad he thought he was funny. lol.

This is a picture of our Condo and the view from our Room.

Hope you all have a lovely week. xx

Blue Rodeo and others

Baby Lilah looking beautiful as always!

I have experienced the first of a few things here in Canada the last few days. Learnt how to snowmobile, got a pedicure and saw a famous Canadian band- Blue Rodeo. I'm easily adjusting to such fun events! Only a couple of more sleeps until we head to the US for Spring Break. We are going to South Carolina, Myrtle Beach. I'm so excited for this!
Blue Rodeo concert was amazing! I've been to festivals with big singers but I've never been to a sit down concert so it was good to experience something different.
I'm starting to get the hang of doing a blog, but still get completely confused when I'm doing simple things!

Starting to miss Australia a bit, but I guess that is to be expected. Missing the hot weather, the weather here is far to cold for me, but I have finally gotton use to the fact that 7 degrees here is clasified as a nice day during winter but for us in Australia it's freezing.

I love the snow though, that's the upside, I had never seen snow fall in my life until I came here, and it is just so beautiful.

Did some crafts with the girls today and made a home out of pipe cleaners and nothing else. We made a house, swimming pool, flower, ant, bunny rabbit and a gate around the house. It turned out well, but wouldn't stand up properly.

Well, I dont really have alot to say today!Hope you all have a wonderful day! :)

First post!

My mother once told me that she visits my blog everday to see whether I've updated it or not, well I jump on my blog six months after the creation and the making of one post and see that I have only had fifteen profile views. If there are fifteen days in six months then my Mother was telling the truth, but I always thought there were 365 days in a year and half that to get 182.5. That's ironic! I have finally given in to re-start my blog and change my name to something more appropriate!

Canada scored themselves an Australian nanny on the third of February, this day had to be one of the most amazing days of my life. I could have looked at that day and instantly reminded myself that another month had passed since my Dad was taken from us. I didn’t though, I did remember this day as what it was but I looked at this day from an angle of a new beginning, a fresh start and a chance to learn more about myself. I think it was twenty minutes from leaving my Mum, my best friend and my younger brothers and sister at the airport that I broke down in tears and asked myself “What the heck am I doing?” People looked at me as if I was crazy and I probably did look crazy crying in the middle of the waiting terminal, it didn’t help that when I sat on the plane I read the letters that I was left with, one from my Mum and one from a very good friend. My Mum has always inspired me, but then she told me that I have always inspired her. I use to pick fights with her all the time but I guess this was because I loved her so much and now I have learnt that the person who inspires you usually gets their inspiration from you.

Here in Canada I look after two beautiful little girls. Hannah is three years old and Lilah is 19 months. Sarah and Will are two amazing parents who both work full time jobs and find that I have completely de-stressed there lives. I live in an apartment that is attached to the house, I have my own kitchen, bathroom, room, closet, etc, I find having my own space is a blessing as I know other nannies that have a room next to the parents and childrens room and share facilities. Everything is completely different here to Australia and I do miss my spaghetti and bakes beans in a tin the most! I get mixed up with the little things that they call things. For example. Soft drink is POP, it all gets a little confusing. Will tells me that us Australian's are a little backwards but I think it may be the other way around!

I do different crafts and activities with the girls everymorning before lunch. Today as a treat for Hannah who is Three years old and still sucking a pacifier (soother, dummy) I took her to Dairy Queen for lunch with Lilah and myself. She slept without one yesterday when she had a nap and didn't have one for the whole day until at about 9:00 pm and her Mum and Dad were going out so she was a little upset and I have her one to calm her and she let me take it out as soon as she woke up this morning so I thought it would only be fare on her if I gave her a treat.

Weekend starts in approx three hours and I'm more then excited to have some time off. Saturday Im going ice fishing which Im madly in love with then  going to have dinner with Will's family and then coming back home and looking after Sarah's sisters two daughters while her and her husband go to a party, apparently they are counting down the days until they get to have the Australian girl come and look after them. This will probably be a big night so I'll come home late and sleep until 9sh and then get ready for my first time at church since before I left Australia, Im looking forward to this. Im craving church! I found an anglican one just around the corner from me, it's beautiful, it's a different denomination to the one back home but I to me church is church and God is God. I will be going by myself, so Im a little nervous but excited at the same time.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
